Description : 28 May 2024/ On the fifth day of the ongoing Shrimad Bhagwat Katha in Pragyan Public School Jewar, Katha Vyas Pandit Shri Damodar Prasad Sharma ji narrated the stories of Putana Uddhar, Makhan Chori Leela, Kaliya Mardan, Govardhan Ji's worship etc. Katha Vyas Shri Damodar Prasad Sharma ji told that there is no other means of welfare than Bhagwat Katha, so taking time out of busy life, one should give necessary importance to the story. There is no truth greater than Bhagwat Katha. Bhagwat Katha is nectar, by listening to it, a man becomes immortal. It is such a medicine which eradicates the disease of birth and death. Bhagwat Katha has been called the fifth Veda. He told that Lord Krishna has been called the complete incarnation. All the pastimes of Lord Krishna are divine and supernatural, which the Yogis and Siddha people meditate on in their hearts and attain the divine supreme position. Narrating the story of Putana Uddhar, he said that Kansa sends the demoness Putana to kill Bal Krishna. Putana disguises herself and tries to feed Lord Krishna poisonous milk from her breast. Bal Krishna gives her the supreme position. Narrating the story of Govardhan Prasanga, he told that in the month of Kartik, the people of Braj prepare to perform a worship program to please Lord Indra. Lord Krishna forbids them from worshipping Lord Indra and tells them to worship Govardhan Maharaj. Lord Indra becomes angry on hearing those words. He causes heavy rain out of his anger. Seeing this, all the people of Braj become upset. Seeing the heavy rain, Lord Shri Krishna lifts Govardhan mountain on his little finger and calls all the people of the city down from the mountain. Defeated by this, Indra stops the rain after a week. On this occasion, special worship of Shri Giriraj Ji Maharaj was done and Giriraj Ji was offered 56 bhogs. At the end of the story, Shri Bhavya Aarti was performed and Prasad was distributed to the devotees.
