Ed leadership- 2013

PPS had participated in 6th "Ed leadership- 2013" a three days International Roundtable conference being organized under the aegis of CBSE was inaugurated on 19th Dec, 2013 in a grand fashion at CMS, Lucknow.

It may be noted that approximately 500 principals, teachers and educators from Japan, Poland, New Zealand, Singapore, Nepal, UK, USA and various states of India participated in this international Roundtable conference held from 19th to 21st Dec., 2013.

The Chief Guest Shri Rajan Shukla, IAS, Principal Secretary, Agricultural Diversification and Culture, educators, Dr. Jagdish Gandhi, founder-Manager, CMS, Biswaroop Roy Choudhary , Guiness Record Holder for World’ Best Memory, Prof. Dec O’ Connor, Dr. Fred Mednick. Lit the lamp of learning to formally inaugurate the conference amidst prayer and songs presented by speakers.

The main purpose of the conference was on empowering all education heads including directors, principals, incharges to become more effective partners in change so urgently needed in the education of Children.

On Day 1, many tentative programmes were scheduled like

>> ‘A New Education Leadership’ discussed by Dr. Jagdish Gandhi.
>> Prof. Dec. O’Connor, Associate Dean, School of Education, University of Notre Dame, Australia, expressed his meaningful thoughts on “Broader Bolder Education”.
>> "New Directions of Education" and “Breaking Boniers in Education” discussed by Ms. Pirjo Koivula and Dr. Fred Mednick, Founder, Teachers without Borders, U.S.A.

On Day 2, a power packed discussion was held on "Macro Education Policy Framework" by Mr. Ram Govind Choudhary, Minister for Basic Education, U.P., Prof. Geeta K Kingdom, Chair of Education Economics and International Development at U.K. From "BEST" to ":NEXT" and "Converting Vision to Reality" were the discussed topics on Day 2.

On Day 3, there was Panel Session on How to get an education we want that was illustrated by Principals from across India and sounding board Pirjo Koivula, Fred Mednick and Bob Baratta Lorton.

After that Hands-on Activities performed by students of City International School, Lucknow.

At the closing ceremony, the chief guest was VN Garg, who honoured and awarded educationist from across the globe. Addressing the gathering, VN Garg said the present day education was in dire need of innovations. "While bringing excellence in education, we also need to find out solutions to the problems which are yet to arrive. Time has come to make education a medium to bring about positive social change. The responsibility of modeling future generations lies only with schools," he said . Educationists of India and abroad bared out their hearts over their experience of this educational conference and vowed to achieve the goal of making education more meaningful in 21st century.

Dr. Gandhi outlined the charge needed in the present day education system and said that enlightened teachers and educationists from various countries help in the prevailing system of education so that it can successfully meet the Challenges of the Present Century.
